Solar Eclipse 2017

At the right time and on the right spot
total darkness falls upon Earth.
A tiny black saucer has gradually swallowed up the giant radiant orb,
leaving a diamond ring dangling in the sky
and cheering crowds of star gazers
standing like silhouettes in pitch-black open fields.
Confused, cicadas stop chirping, and birds hastily return home,
Nocturnal animals, having come out for preys, stop short to look around.
Then, hesitant for a few moments and a little puzzled,
they run back to their safe heavens,
hoping nothing will disturb their sleep again.

Let's hope nothing will disturb Earth
in 7 or 99 plus years, or so they said.
Despite the tide rises or the tide falls,
let's hope nothing will disturb us again.

The giant disk continues its sparkling radiation
The tiny saucer moves on its familiar path,
following its same cycle of wax and wane.
And everything will be back to normal again.
