Compassion and Wisdom

Without wisdom, even compassion can be biased.
Empathy, if not regulated, can be overwhelming....Try to keep optimism and share with others your situations to overcome.
The 14th Dalai Lama

Simple stress management techniques, relying on others, trying to see the glass half full, and knowing in your heart of hearts that your presence matters will help you to have a longer and more successful career [as a psychiatrist or a psychologist].
You must simply believe that your [compassionate and supportive] presence matters.
Those who believe in something greater than themselves tend to be more resilient than those who only believe in what they see.  If all you believe is in what you see before you, and what you see before you has been destroyed, it's hard to get up the next day.
George Everly, Jr. (Johns Hopkins University)

[Let's look upon] [p]hysical reality [as] "nothing more than events and processes."
